Placing a Call

On-Campus
|
Dial the last four digits of the party you are trying to reach.

Off-Campus
|
Dial 7 and wait for dial tone. Dial the number of the party you are trying to reach. Click here for local prefix numbers (cellular included)

Long-Distance
|
Students cannot dial long distance numbers. If they attempt to do so they will hear a stutter dial tone but any attempt to use a pin number as in previous semesters will result in a fast busy. Long distance calling cards from any Long Distance Service Provider or prepay long distance cards purchased from retail stores such as WalMart or Sam's Club may be used. Cards may also be purchased on campus at the Bookstore or in machines located in the lobbies of various Residence Halls.

|
Operator Assistance may be reached by dialing 7 + 0 + 0

Credit Card Collect
|
Dial 7 + 0 + area code + number calling. Enter destination number at the prompt. You will then hear a tone at which time you can enter the card number or 0 for additional options. Please select one of the following billing options:
- Press 1 for credit card
- Press 2 for collect
- Press 0 for Operator Assistance
- Press # to replay the menu
Calling cards may be utilized from any long distance provider or Qwest long distance service provider. MasterCard, Diners Club, American Express and Carte Blanche credit cards may also be used.

Answer a call
|
Press the switch hook or press the flash button when you hear a beep during a phone call.

Return to first call
|
Press the switch hook or press the flash button.

Speed Calling
|

Store speed calls
|
To store a speed call entry:
- Lift the handset and press # 2
- Dial the Speed Call code (00-19), followed by the phone number it represents.
- Entry accepted: Silence
- Entry not accepted: Fast busy tone
- Hang up
Repeat steps 1 through 3 for each entry to be stored.

Make a speed call
|
To make a speed call:
- Lift the handset and dial # 3.
- Dial the Speed Call code (00-19). The number represented by the Speed Call code is dialed.

Call Forwarding
|
|
Forward calls
|
To forward calls to another number:
- Lift the handset and dial *1.
- Dial the number where calls are to be forwarded.
- Hang up.
|
|
Cancel call forwarding
|
To cancel call forwarding:
- Lift the handset and dial #1.
|
|
3-Party Call
|
|
To make a 3-party call:
- While connected on a call, press the switch hook. You will hear dial tone.
- Dial the number of the 3rd party.
- Wait till they answer and press the switch hook again.

EUP Voice Mail
|
|
Note: When setting up voice mail, the initial password is blank (no password). To create a password, see instructions below.

Accessing Voice Mail
|
To access voice mail from your own phone:
- Call the system access number (3000). You hear a prompt asking you to enter your password.
- Enter your password.
- Press #. You hear the mailbox summary.

To access voice mail from another phone:
- Call the system access number (3000). If you are asked for a password press the *, then proceed to step 2.
- Enter your mailbox number.
- Press #. You hear a prompt asking you to enter your password.
- Enter your password.
- Press #. You hear the mailbox summary.

To access voice mail off-campus:
- Call the system access number 814-732-3000. If you are asked for a password press the *, then proceed to step 2.
- Enter your mailbox number.
- Press #. You hear a prompt asking you to enter your password.
- Enter your password.
- Press #. You hear the mailbox summary.

Play message
|
To play a Voice Mail message:
- Press 1 on the main menu to select message retrieval. Your new messages begin to play.
- After or during each message that plays, you can replay, keep, delete, or save it as new.
- To replay the message, press 1.
- To keep the message, press 2.
- To delete the message, press 3.
- To save it as new, press 4.
- To return to the main menu, press *.

Create/change password
|
To create or change your password, first access your mailbox.
- Press 9 on the main menu to select mailbox setup.
- Press 2 to create or change your password. You hear a prompt telling you to enter your new password.
- Enter your new password using the telephone keypad, then press #. You hear a prompt telling you to enter your new password again.
- Enter the same password again, then press #.

Personalized greeting
|
To record a personalized Voice Mail greeting, first access your mailbox:
- Press 9 on the main menu to select mailbox setup.
- Press 1 to record a greeting.
- Press 4 to start recording. When you hear the tone, start to speak.
- Press # to stop recording.
- To play the greeting you recorded, press 1
- To re-record the greeting, press 4 to record, the # to stop.
- To delete the greeting, press 3.
- When you are satisfied with your recording, press 2 or * to keep your greeting and return to mailbox setup.
