Note: You must be connected to the Internet to use the Stargate Account Manager.
Configure e-mail programs for multiple accounts
There are two methods of creating multiple e-mail boxes - outside of MyStargate or using MyStargate configuration wizard. Each method has advantages and disadvantages. Please read the options below and decide which method works best for you.
Netscape - To configure Netscape profiles, you may either create a new profile using the Netscape Profile Manager or create a new MyStargate profile for each e-mail address which will create Netscape profiles for you. To configure Netscape profiles outside of MyStargate, connect to the Internet and follow the instructions as outlined on help.stargate.net. To configure Netscape profiles using MyStargate, following the instructions in "Method 2: Creating Multiple E-mail Boxes Using MyStargate" shown below.
Outlook Express - Use one of the following methods to create multiple e-mail boxes in Outlook Express.
Method 1: Creating Multiple E-mail Boxes Outside of MyStargate
Please note that it is not necessary to use MyStargate to create a separate e-mail box. You may create a separate mailbox outside of MyStargate. This method should be considered if you are using Outlook Express. To configure Outlook Express Identities, please connect to the Internet and follow the instructions on help.stargate.net.
Note: If you create separate identities in Outlook Express, please note that the MyStargate diagnostic utility will not fix any issues that may arise due to configuration errors within an email account identity/identities created outside of MyStargate. MyStargate will only 'know' about the initial (main) identity that was created during the setup.
Important information about Outlook Identities If multiple identities are created and an identity is renamed or deleted, you may need to run the Outlook Express Identity Repair Tool for the MyStargate diagnotic utility to run correctly.>> Click here to run the Outlook Express Identity Repair Tool << Method 2: Creating Multiple E-mail Boxes Using MyStargate
You may use MyStargate to create a new profile that will, by default, create a new mailbox. In this case, MyStargate will know about the mailboxes and will be able to diagnose any issues related to mail configuration for the additional mailboxes.
Note: MyStargate cannot create Outlook Express identities; thus, using this method will result in e-mail sent to multiple accounts going into the same inbox (single identity, multiple accounts)To configure a new e-mail box in Windows, create a new profile using the MyStargate setup wizard:
- Close any open Dashboards (profiles).
- Double-click My Computer.
- Double-click Internet Connections folder.
- Double-click Make New Connection icon.
- Select "Create New Configuration." Click OK.
- The "Welcome to…" screen appears. "Select Setup for existing Account" if applicable. Click Next.
- The Connection Name will already be entered but will need to be edited. You may enter your username, for example, or simply add a number the end of the default Connection Name (e.g. Stargate2). Click Next.
- Enter your name in the Your Name box. If you wish, you can also enter your organization or company in the Organization box. Click Next.
- Enter a username and Password. Click Next.
- Type an Email-ID and password. Click Next.
- Select the modem and click Next.
- The area code should already be entered. If not, please enter the area code in the Area Code box. Click Next.
- Enter the code to disable Call Waiting if you have this service. Click Next.
- Click Finish on last panel.
