Problem: You get a message saying The
modem is already in use when you try to connect.
Solution:This particular problem can typically
be caused by either a problem with your modem driver or, more commonly, if
another program is trying to use your modem. In particular, if you are using
any software on your computer for receiving faxes or as an answering system,
you should close that software before trying to connect. If you do not use fax software, try cold booting the computer by closing all programs, shutting down the computer, waiting 30 seconds, then turning the computer back on.
